Talk #1 - Start-to-Finish Marketing Automation
Presented by Jordan Skole

In this presentation, we will cover start-to-finish marketing automation for Heather Read Photography, which is hosted on WordPress. Jordan will show how the whole process of generating leads, nurturing those leads, closing leads, is all handled through automated systems and processes. All Jordan's wife has to do is aim the camera and cash the checks.

Jordan Skole

Jordan Skole is the Detroit Campus Director for The Iron Yard, a developer bootcamp in Detroit. He is the alumni of a top 10 startup accelerator and was the director of growth for Ambassador (another enterprise software company). He currently handles all marketing and growth for his wife's photography business.

Talk #2 - Gulp for Web Development
Presented by Aisha Blake

Gulp is a task runner that operates on Node.js using streams. It can be used to automate all the boring and/or repetitive parts of building a web application. Never reload the browser or compile Sass by hand again! In this session, we'll cover how to get started using Gulp in your next project, some key features, and suggestions for great plugins to try.

Aisha Blake

Aisha Blake co-leads the Detroit chapter of Girl Develop It and teaches front-end web development as part of the instructional staff at Grand Circus. She will go anywhere you ask if there are puppies and/or karaoke involved.

We need volunteers... for photography, taking/publishing notes on our blog, greeting people when they arrive, setting up, and tweeting.

If you would like to volunteer to help with this, or any meetup, just let the host of the meetup know. You will get in the meetup you help at for free if you volunteer, we appreciate the help.

Parking and Venue information

Grand Circus is located in the Broderick Tower, and you enter from the Woodward-facing doors.

Once inside, go to the end of the hall, and take the elevator to the third floor. Turn left when you get off the elevator, then turn right and look for the signs directing you to the room.

Parking is available at the Detroit Opera House parking garage, located on Broadway. Parking is $10 (unless there's a special event). There's also limited paid street parking.

The Detroit Opera House parking garage is a short walk up Broadway and around the corner from the Grand Circus space. Here's parking information from the Broderick Tower website (PDF)

Note: with the M-1 rail construction downtown, it will be challenging to maneuver downtown streets and find street parking. Stay current on the construction by visiting the M-1 construction page
