The Long Good Friday - at the VIFF

Details

It’s 1979 and Margaret Thatcher has just become Prime Minister. London’s answer to Little Caesar, entrepreneur Harold Shand (Bob Hoskins) is already thinking about the Docklands redevelopment and bringing the Olympics to the East End. All he needs is a little seed money from our American friends across the pond. Unfortunately for Harold, his bid to wine and dine the Mafia over Easter weekend coincides with a gang war he never saw coming.

“Bob Hoskins commands a deviously sinister performance in The Long Good Friday -- a gangster flick with ferocious intelligence, tight plotting and razor-edged thrills.” - RT

Let’s meet up outside the VIFF at 7pm for introductions and to begin lining up for the 7:30pm showing. We can grab coffee after if people wanna keep the discussions going :).
