Fall Colour at Nitobe Japanese Garden – UBC

Join me for an afternoon of landscape and nature photography as we create beautiful environmental “portraits” at magnificent Nitobe Japanese Memorial Garden.
It is anticipated that the Japanese Maples around the pond at Nitobe Japanese Garden will be showing off their brilliant fall colour! Grab your camera, comfy shoes, a coat and join me in creating some beautiful images that celebrate the fiery autumn season! Please note: I cannot guarantee what colour the foliage will be; if you are concerned, please contact Nitobe Japanese Garden to confirm the state of the trees yourself.

• Step 1 — RSVP: RSVP to the event to add your name to the list.
• Step 2 — Hold your spot (within 24 hours): Send your e-transfer to **clazarschuler@icloud.com** within 24 hours of RSVPing. If you prefer to pay cash on-site, you must arrange this by email within the same 24-hour window. If payment isn’t received and no cash arrangement is made, your spot will be released to the next person on the RSVP list.
• Step 3 — Confirmation: Once your payment is received, you’ll get an email confirming your spot.

Note: Garden admission is not included in the event fee. Your event fee supports the annual costs of organizing and maintaining group events and information.

Cancellations & No-Shows
If you’ve RSVP’d and can’t attend, please contact the organizer ASAP so the group isn’t waiting for you. **“No-shows”**without prior contact will receive a warning; repeated no-shows may result in removal from the group.

Reminders

• Bring extra batteries and memory cards – If your battery dies or you run out of memory, the event will not be paused to accommodate—come prepared!
• Optional gear: ND filters, tripod

Health & Safety (COVID-19 & Seasonal Illness)
Although life feels “normal,” COVID-19 variants and seasonal flu remain a risk. Please be mindful of your health and the safety of others.

Guidelines (mandatory):

• Do not attend if you have any symptoms such as fever, chills, sore throat, cough, muscle aches, or severe headache.
• If symptoms develop after RSVP, cancel immediately and notify the event organizer.
• Respect spacing and personal comfort levels of fellow participants.

These are simple, common-sense measures. Anyone unable to follow these rules will be asked to leave the event.
