This Meetup group is for people from the Stuttgart region (and beyond) who enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities as welll as social, cultural and educational activities. We meet about three to four times a month.
We are the "Metropolitan Club Stuttgart e.V". an international club, which roots go back to 1951, with a tradition of German-American friendship open for participants of all nations.

For a long time, the American security guarantee was considered the cornerstone of European stability. Military alliances, economic openness, and shared values formed the foundation of the transatlantic partnership. But these principles are increasingly faltering. In his lecture, Dr. Marco Overhaus analyzes the state of the "Pax Americana" and sheds light on why Europe needs to rethink its security dependence on the United States. What does the declining influence of liberal democratic principles in American foreign policy mean for Europe? And what options does the EU have to act more independently in foreign and security policy?

Katelyn Emerson is a concert organist and educator with expertise in music psychology and ergonomics. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Cambridge (UK). "Her programs and playing demonstrate a profound knowledge of historical performance practice and a swing that can only be described as perfect," wrote Musica Sacra. Her multinational program also has swing – we hear music of the 19th and 20th centuries by such extraordinary composers as the British conductor and suffragette Ethel Smyth (1858-1944) and the Dutchman Ad Wammes (*1953), whose oeuvre ranges from concert pieces for keyboard instruments to stage and film music.Alexandre-Pierre-François Boëly Canon perpétuel
