Details
A stroll along the River Wandle. We start walking to the mouth of the Wandle, where it flows into the River Thames, and then head south, ending at the Wandle's first source in Carshalton Ponds. We walk alongside the river most of the way and pass through several parks and the Mordon Hall National Trust site. We are ending in the Hope pub in Carshalton, which won the CAMRA 2023 Pub of the Year, Greater London. For those who prefer generic lager (and ale enthusiasts alike), there are delicious, affordable (£7.50 @ last check) hotpots. Please bring packed lunch.
Travel: Take 11:14 from London Waterloo (11:18 Vauxhall,11:24 Clapham Junction) arr. Wandsworth Town 11:27, or check TfL Journey Planner for alternatives. Oyster/Contactless can be used in both directions.
