A beautiful Chilterns walk offering a variety of different scenery. The first part of the walk is a steady climb on the Ridgeway to Ivinghoe Beacon with stunning downland views. We continue through farmland, a dense pine forest and a steep hill with zig-zag steps. We reach the hamlet of Ringshall, then enter woods and make our way to the lunch stop at Little Gaddesden. There is a pub, but please bring a packed lunch. After lunch we make our way through the ancient Chiltern beechwoods of the Ashridge Estate, which includes the Bridgewater Monument. We descend to the Grand Union Canal and follow the towpath to Berkhamsted. Possible pub stop at the end of the walk.

Travel: Take the 9.54 from Euston, arrives Tring 10.32. There are several trains back to London from Berkhamsted. Please buy a return to Tring.

No booking required.
