Starting at Boxhill & Westhumble Station, the first eight miles of the walk will be on North Downs Way until we drop into Village of Shere for lunch. Shere has public facilities as well as church, coffee shops, and the like. 2nd half of walk involves a final steep climb to Martha's Church, before returning to Guildford via Chantry Wood.
Due to short daylight hours, walk will be at a moderate but not overly fast pace of around 3mph in order to finish by sunset, but bring a torch just in case.
Please bring a packed lunch.
Kindly note this walk is at the top end of the Moderate grading, verging on Strenuous.
Travel: Train dep. 09:24 London Waterloo (9:33 Clapham Junction), arrive Box hill & Westhumble 10:11
Buy a return to Boxhill & Westhumble. Additional single from Guildford to Leatherhead needed on way back. The return ticket from Boxhill & Westhumble will cover your return leg from Leatherhead (where the train lines meet) back to London.
There are no toilets as Boxhill & Westhumble station so please use facilities on the train if these are available.
