The last passenger train may have left a good seventy-five years ago but we can still enjoy the pastoral scenes witnessed by rail users of yesteryear. After following the Oxford Canal we take in the axed Banbury & Cheltenham Direct Railway before heading into the Cotswolds and getting super views of the moated Broughton Castle. Walk will be muddy in places.
Pub stop for drinks only. Bring a packed lunch.
Travel: Take 9.32 from Marylebone, arr. Banbury at 10.37. Meet near the Costa Coffee on Station Approach.
