Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website

Route begins with a climb to the summit of Black Down, taking in great views of the surrounding landscape. After descending Black Down we continue along an undulating route through fields and woodlands towards the pretty town of Midhurst, passing the impressive ruins of Cowdray House near the end of the walk. Total ascent 470m.

Please bring a packed lunch. Pub stop after lunch, and at the end in Midhurst.

Terrain: Hills, woods, fields

Travel: Take the 9:45 from London Waterloo (9:52 Clapham Junction), arrive Haslemere 10:49.

Buy a return to Haslemere.

First part of journey back from Midhurst is by bus, route 70 to Haslemere (buy ticket on the bus - contactless accepted). Bus takes 27min. Last buses leave Midhurst at 17:25, 18:25 and 19:25.
