Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website

Note: This walk will be longer and faster than most of our mid-week walks, and starts at 18:30.

The aim of this walk is to visit the spectacular spring blooms in Richmond Park. We'll be visiting in the evening rather than at the weekend to avoid the worst of the crowds. However, this does mean starting a little earlier than usual and maintaining a brisk pace to make the most of the daylight.

Our route will follow the river out of Richmond before climbing up into the park. We'll pass over King Henry's Mound (with its protected view all the way to St Paul's Cathedral) and continue through Pembroke Lodge Gardens, before heading on to Isabella Plantation where the spectacular azalea displays should (hopefully!) be in full bloom.

We’ll finish in Kingston, where you’re welcome to join us for a drink at the pub at the end of the walk.

Please make sure you arrive on time. We’ll need to leave promptly at 18:30 to reach the Isabella Plantation in good light and see the best of the colours, so unfortunately we won’t be able to wait for latecomers.

Grading: Moderate.
For an explanation of the gradings, please see the FAQ - please consider both the length and grade when choosing a walk.

Finish point: Kingston upon Thames Train Station.
