This linear walk through West Surrey and South Middlesex connects two places with an international connection. Firstly, we walk to Virginia Water Lake to see (from a distance) ruins brought back from Leptis Magna in Libya in the early 19th century. We then walk through the southern end of Windsor Great Park towards Runnymede. Here is the JFK Memorial, situated on a sovereign acre of land gifted to the United States of America. The route then follows the Thames Path to Staines.
Please bring a packed lunch. There is pub stop at the end.
Travel: Take the 10:39 from London Waterloo (dep.10:43 Vauxhall, 10:49 Clapham Junction), arr. 11:30 Sunningdale. Please buy a return ticket to Sunningdale.
