Bures to Sudbury (11 miles/Moderate)

A pretty walk along the Essex / Suffolk border, following the Stour Valley Path between Bures and the market town of Sudbury. We will pass through some of the landscapes that inspired the painter Thomas Gainsborough.

Lunch pub stop for drinks only at The Henny Swan in Henny Street. Please bring a packed lunch.

Optional pub at the end of the walk.

Travel: Take 10:02 from London Liverpool Street (Stratford 10:09), change at Marks Tey (arr. 10:57, dep. 11:01), arr. Bures 11:13.

Buy return to Sudbury (Suffolk).

Note: There is a 4-minute connection at Marks Tey. Trains to Bures/Sudbury depart from Platform 3. This is a simple cross platform interchange which doesn't require any stairs.
