A substantial and fairly hilly walk through the well-trodden heartland of the Chilterns. Expect a reasonably brisk pace but decent enough paths to carry us along.
The hope is that, as we walk through the Chequers estate and beyond, we catch some of the beech and oak woods in their picturesque autumn colours, though the leaves may already have fallen from the parched branches following the incessant heatwaves of this summer! We shall see.
Please bring a packed lunch. Pub at the end.
Travel: Take the 8:52 from London Marylebone, arr. 10:05 Little Kimble. Buy a return to Little Kimble.
Please use the toilet facilities on the train if needed, as Little Kimble Station is unlikely to have these.
Grading: Strenuous.
