911 Memorial Trail 2 Day Hike

Details

Join us for this two day, point to point hike tracing the 911 National Memorial Trail, two of the four days remaining to complete the entire trail.
This is sort of a space saver, as we're not sure if we'll be hiking Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday. Everyone is welcome to do one or both days.
These two days are about 15 miles each, covering between Johnstown and Hooversville.
Day 1 will take us between the Holiday Inn and downtown Johnstown.
The official 911 Trail route follows busy Rt 56 and would be an absolutely terribly hike, and so we are taking some liberties with the route.
The planning of the trail has sort of been hijacked by the cyclist only contingent, and so we have to plan a route that will be enjoyable.
Fortunately, this first day will include the Johnstown River Walk, which will be more than half of the trip and is very scenic!
The second day passes through the towns of Paint, Windber, and Scalp Level, but mostly is pleasant, little used back roads down to Hooversville where we will end.
Each day we can shuttle vehicles accordingly in the morning.
