Join us for this point to point hike focusing on lots of public lands to the south of Reading PA.
This will tie in to other stuff we've done around the area, and we'll cover about fifteen miles (15).
After meeting at Angelica Park, a larger lot off of St Bernardine Street, we will shuttle with as few cars as possible to our start point.
The beginning of the hike will be pleasant rolling hills of the Green Hills Preserve, a non profit property which offers some pastoral views.
We'll exit the preserve onto some back roads and pass through some large lots. A 2.6 mile road walk will then take us to the east entrance to Nolde Forest. We'll ascend from here, and then begin weaving all around the trail system within the outdoor education center.
Some of the trails are a bit rocky, but we'll mostly be keeping to the pleasant woods road stuff zig zagging through the park.
We'll exit the park and continue to the north, then make our way to Shillington Park. Some of the next trail might be a little weedy, but only for a short distance. If it's really bad, we'll do an alternative parallel back road.
At the end of the Shillington trail system, we have only a short couple of blocks to the Angelica Creek Greenway, which we will follow to the end.
