Details
"The West Essex Trail is a former railroad track bed of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad Caldwell Branch now hiking trail located mostly in Essex County, New Jersey in the United States, with a small section in Passaic County, New Jersey."
We will be following the remainder of the branch that was sadly not converted to trail from the Passaic River as far as we can north to Bloomfield Ave, Verona where the current trail starts then make our way back through parks and trails.
Other points of interest: the gorgeous Grover Cleveland Park, the Trotter Tract, some of the Lenape Trail and some local parks. Route is subject to change.
Total mileage should be under 10. There will be several opportunities for food in both directions. This is a loop hike.
