Wissahickon Valley Hike
Details
Join us for this diverse loop hike in the Wissahickon Valley featuring lots of different trails and such.
After meeting at the Acme in Flourtown, we will get on into part of Fort Washington State Park. We'll do all of the trails on the south side of the creek, then make our way onto some back streets and through ball fields south.
Heading south, we'll head into James A Cisco Park, then cover a few more back streets to Morris Arboretum. There is a charge for this section, I believe $10, walk in fee which is less than others. It should be a great time of year to see it, and so we'll spend more time there than we would have otherwise and try to do all of the trails possible.
After this visit, we'll make our way into the Fairmount Park sections view near connecting trails and meander through. This will lead us across the Wissahickon, and we'll then follow a circuitous route through the Andorra section, through woods and meadows.
After this, we make our way back to Forbidden Drive, and then follow the Green Ribbon Trail back to the starting point. A portion of that is along a back road, but there's plenty of grassy side to walk on that bit. The last stretch will be directly along the Wissahickon in a pleasant section.
