Brandywine Hike

Join us for this point to point hike, the next in our series of both the Brandywine Trail and the New Holland Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
We meet at Sugar's Bridge Nature Area south of Downingtown Pennsylvania at 9, and shuttle with as few vehicles as possible north to our start point.
We'll begin in Marsh Creek State Park at a point we finished a previous hike in this series.
The very beginning will be field edge trails and such in a newer preserved section. From here, we will make our way east on a very brief road walk to get to where we last left off on the Brandywine Trail.
We'll pass along the Marsh Creek Lake on this trail, as well as through woods and farmlands heading to the south.
We eventually pass by the dam at Marsh Creek and descend to the Struble Trail, where we pick up the former New Holland Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Brandywine Trail follows this to Downingtown along the scenic creek.
We continue south and leave the rail bed in Downingtown, then continue on the creek.
The pleasant trail ascends through woods after another very brief road bit, and descends again to reach the Brandywine Meadows. From here to the end, we follow an old trolley bed along the creek.
This promises to be a great hike, and mostly pretty easy terrain.
