Join us for this point to point hike, the next in our 911 National Memorial Trail series, this with the Mt Vernon Trail being the subject. The official trail map shows this as a part of it, as a spur.
The trail is just over 17 miles, so it fits perfectly what we do, and after this one we'll start heading back toward NYC.
After meeting at the end point, we'll shuttle with as few vehicles as possible to our start point.
The Mt Vernon Trail is pretty straightforward, and follows the Potomac River the entire time, so it's really a great continuation from what we've already done with the C&O.
This time I'm only planning on one day of hiking, and might visit some museums the second day.
