Join us for a visit to the Museo Nacional de San Carlos, one of the most beautiful and culturally rich museums in Mexico City. Located in a magnificent 18th-century neoclassical palace, this museum is home to the oldest and most important collection of European art in Latin America.
Spread across five permanent galleries, the museum’s collection features works by key representatives of European painting, from International Gothic art of the 14th and 15th centuries to early 20th-century movements, offering visitors a sweeping view of artistic evolution across the centuries.
During our visit, we’ll also enjoy two outstanding temporary exhibitions:
Cultural History of Color - A fascinating exploration of how color has been used, perceived, and symbolized throughout history. This exhibition features paintings, textiles, artifacts, and documents that invite reflection on how color shapes our cultural and artistic experience.
Eugenio Landesio: The Lessons of Art - A tribute to the influential 19th-century landscape painter and mentor to José María Velasco. Landesio brought academic discipline to landscape painting in Mexico and helped define a visual identity that continues to resonate.
In addition to appreciating great art, this event is a great chance to practice English in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere by chatting with other attendees. Of course, you’re also welcome to enjoy the experience in Spanish if you prefer.

Acompáñanos a visitar el Museo Nacional de San Carlos, uno de los museos más hermosos y culturalmente ricos de la Ciudad de México. Ubicado en un magnífico palacio neoclásico del siglo XVIII, este recinto alberga la colección de arte europeo más antigua e importante de América Latina.
Distribuida en cinco salas permanentes, la colección del museo incluye obras clave de los grandes representantes de la pintura europea, desde el arte gótico internacional de los siglos XIV y XV hasta los movimientos artísticos de principios del siglo XX, ofreciendo a los visitantes un recorrido por siglos de evolución artística.
Durante nuestra visita también podremos disfrutar de dos exposiciones temporales destacadas:
Historia cultural del color - Una exploración fascinante sobre cómo el color ha sido utilizado, percibido y simbolizado a lo largo del tiempo. La muestra incluye pinturas, textiles, objetos y documentos que invitan a reflexionar sobre cómo el color influye en nuestra experiencia cultural y artística.
Eugenio Landesio: Las lecciones del arte - Un homenaje al influyente paisajista del siglo XIX y maestro de José María Velasco. Landesio trajo un enfoque académico a la pintura de paisaje en México y ayudó a definir una identidad visual que sigue siendo relevante hasta hoy.
Además de disfrutar del arte, este evento es una excelente oportunidad para practicar inglés en un ambiente amigable y relajado conversando con otros asistentes. Por supuesto, también puedes disfrutar del recorrido en español si lo prefieres.
