Acrylics - Tips and Tricks

Want to get better results with acrylic? Acrylics – Tips and Tricks is a practical, beginner-friendly meetup where we’ll share a bunch of go-to techniques for working with acrylic more confidently (and with fewer cracks, chips, and “oops” moments). We’ll cover:

• Choosing acrylic + common do’s/don’ts (so you start with the right material)
• Cutting approaches (blades, scoring, and laser basics—what works best when)
• Drilling without cracking or splitting (bit choices, speeds, backing, and technique)
• Chemical welding fundamentals (clean seams, better bonds, fewer bubbles)
• Bending and shaping (simple methods to get clean bends)

If time permits, we’ll put it into practice with a small build—something simple like a business card holder—and we’ll also leave room for extra tips based on what people are working on.
