Easy Walk on the Rock Island Trail

Join us for a walk on the Rock Island Trail. We’ll start at the Vale Trailhead ( 12600 E 98th St, Kansas City, MO 64138 ) and head north through the Vale Tunnel and walk alongside the Little Blue River. We’ll turn around at the bridge over 350 Highway and head back the same way.

It’s about 3 miles roundtrip and should take around an hour at an easy pace. The trail is flat, well-maintained, and has a fine pebble surface that’s really smooth and easy to walk on. It has partly shaded areas. This is a relaxed walk—perfect for any pace and a nice way to get outside and enjoy some fresh air.

Keep an eye out for bicycles—this is a popular trail for cyclists too.

Try to get there about 15 minutes early so we have time for introductions and can start promptly at 7. Bring some water, wear comfy shoes and a hat, and come hang out!
