March 2026 Club-Business and Speaker Presentation - Landscape Astrophotography

On March 17th, 2026, Kerry-Ann Lecky Hepburn will be giving us a presentation from Ontario Canada (via ZOOM) titled:
Chasing Starlight: Adventures in Landscape Astrophotography

She'll be showing the essentials for capturing the night sky, from planning a location, to figuring out gear and camera settings. She'll also cover some basic post-processing techniques used today to blend the cosmos with your favorite scenery. She will also share the stories behind some of her favorite photos taken both globally and close to home.

Kerry-Ann is a senior meteorologist for a 24-hr TV station in Canada and lives in the Niagara Region with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she flies small airplanes and volunteers for the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association. Driven by her lifelong passion for astronomy and photography, she dedicates considerable time to capturing deep sky and Milky Way night scape images. With a portfolio that's both award-winning and widely published, her work has been featured in books, calendars, and magazines, and showcased on prestigious online platforms like NASA APOD. She also loves to share her expertise by leading international workshops and photo tours and engaging with her audience on social media. In a remarkable honor, an asteroid was recently named after her: 53258 Kerryannlecky (1999 FN).

Prior to the presentation MHAA will conduct a club business meeting, which will start at 7:30 PM. The talk will start at 8:00 PM, but anyone who wishes to join the business meeting is welcomed.
