Michael Goldstein will be giving a fascinating talk titled: The First-Ever Color DSO Images
(With a comparison to today’s digital revolution in amateur astronomy)
Michael Goldstein is Vice President of the Mid Hudson Astronomical Association, and a frequent contributor to the EAA forum on Cloudy Nights. He moved to the mid-Hudson Valley/Catskills region in 2022, from where he continues to pursue his lifelong dream to observe and photograph the heavens.
He specializes in real-time astrophotography with a particular interest in imaging galaxies having to-date imaged 179 of 338 entries in Halton C. Arp’s Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies, 18 of the 20 galaxies cited in Vera C. Rubin’s seminal 1980 paper measuring the speed of galaxy rotation, and the entire Messier Catalogue. He also has a strong interest in the history of astronomy, He is an avid hiker and fly fisher.

Prior to the presentation MHAA will conduct a club business meeting, which will start at 7:15 PM. The talk will start at 8:00 PM, but anyone who wishes to join the business meeting is welcomed.
