This activity is part of the MAC Camping Event to Ludington, MI and is approximately 4 hours from the Detroit Area. All are welcome to join even if not camping.

Please read through all of the information below:

What:

  • A ~6 mile paddle down a relatively easy, quiet and beautiful river. Jan and I kayaked this a few years ago. It was not difficult and we really enjoyed it.

  • It should be 2+ to 3+ hours based on river conditions, how fast you paddle and if you stop along the way.

  • It's considered easy but there can always be trees down, etc. Contact the livery directly to discuss any concerns you have, their number is below.

When:
Saturday, June 20th @ 9:30.

  • Leave the campground at 9:00am
  • Meet at the livery at 9:30am to check in, pay and be ready for transportation to the drop off around 10:00.

Where:
The River Run Livery. About 30 minutes from Ludington State Park Campground.

Reservations and Costs:
CALL/TEXT AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATION ABOUT A WEEK BEFOREHAND. BUT if you wait till the last minute you might be waiting to get dropped off at the start point

They ask that you call or text this number
231-613-8428, to make your request. Be specific about your:

  • full name
  • you're requesting Saturday June 20th for the 10am start time.
  • the number and type of boat(s) you want
  • ..or.. that you are having your own boat(s) staged
  • You can say you are with the MAC (Michigan Adventurer's Club) group.

Here are their costs, and they also spot personal boats if you bring your own, that cost is there as well.

They also say they offer a discount if you have a Michigan Parks Tag on your vehicle, ask about that when you call to make a reservation.

Notes, PLEASE READ:

  • They charge $5 CASH PER VEHICLE for parking, so you may want to coordinate rides.
  • TUBING NOT RECOMMENDED: They offer it but I saw several complaints of shallow areas when reading through the comments.
  • There may be a lot of people from our group so we may not all fit on the same bus for drop off, meaning we may not all be going down together at the exact same time.
