What we’re about
Welcome! This meetup dedicated to all professionals involved in Cyber Security for Automated Processes and Control Systems including security for Operating Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA Systems, Transportation Systems, Building Control Systems (BCS), and even emerging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems. Our purpose is to connect the professionals in the Greater Miami area with real interest in or responsibility for the cyber security of these systems.
Once we have enough critical mass of interest in Miami, we will gather for purposes of education, information exchange, and discovery of new opportunities and, yes, perhaps a few happy hours! If you are interested in serving on a committee to help shape this meetup experience, please contact the organizers directly.

In May 2023, 22 companies operating parts of the Danish energy infrastructure were compromised in a coordinated attack. Michael Weng will present details of this attack, including the timeline of attack discovery, steps taken in response by defenders, resolution, and the lessons learned from the incident. He will explain the perspective of the Danish CERT, highlighted through the report released in November 2023.
Michael also describes why an OT/ICS NSM solution would not have detected this attack, hence wouldn't have made a significant difference for the defense of the OT/ICS environments.

ICS Village has partnered with several public and private entities to develop a new Workforce Development program called CIISAp. CIISAp will link rigorous academic classes and educational training with real-world job rotations at leading industrial companies to help students identify and prevent cyber vulnerabilities and attacks on industrial control systems and operational technologies (OT), physical assets linked to information technology (IT) networks, and platforms run on the industrial Internet of Things (IoT). Members of the consortium will discuss the design and launch of an apprenticeship program that links rigorous academic classes and educational training with real-world job rotations at leading industrial companies.
