Designated the first “urban wilderness area” in Florida in 1978, Secret Woods protects a 56-acre floodplain of cypress strand and mangroves with uplands of tropical hammock. Secret Woods is very special. It’s hidden under such a dense canopy of mangroves that most people buzzing past have no idea it exists. Come join us for a little hike around the hammock. We will be doing a little hike and nature study mainly to get outside in the sunshine and fresh air. This event will be cancelled in the event of rain.
Let's go kite flying bring your kites or buy one there. By the Marina there's the perfect place to fly your kite. Bring a picnic lunch and teach the kids to fly the kite. We will be on the Marina side not at the marina. We will be narthex kite shop where kites are usually flown.
Located on upper Biscayne Bay, in the middle of the busy Miami metropolitan area, Oleta River State Park is an amazing getaway, offering a variety of outdoor recreational activities. The park is well known for its miles of off-road bicycling trails, but for kayakers, canoeists, and paddle boarders this is truly a diamond in the rough. It offers pristine, mostly clear water padding opportunities, away from the wind and busy boat traffic of the open bay. Paddle boards rentals is $35/1.5hrs and double kayak rental is $45/1.5hrs.
