Aboout the Artist:
Ariel Cruz 35, Graffiti Artist Trendsetter, was born in New York, from a young age Ariel showed signs of creativity, winning a scholarship to RISD College (Rhode Island School of Design).
At age 10, he began tagging, a form of art executed by grafitti artists. Since then he has been focused on showing that grafitti is a valid art form, and should not be deemed as vandalism: a common misconception made today by people who do not understand what tagging is truly about. However, not all grafitti is done on walls.
Ariel chose to take a different approach to the art form by incorporating his unique style into fashion tagging hats, clothing, boots, and sneakers, all designed with Ariel's custom graf.
Ariel's work has been featured in URB Magazine, Underwire Interactive Magazine,VH1 and Vicious Magazine.
Through this exposure and his eagerness to make a name for himself in the fashion industry, Ariel has designed exclusive sneakers for the world’s largest House Music artists as well as many other prominent DJs and Artists within the music scene. By merging his grafitti art and keen fashion sense Ariel has recently started his own clothing line “Keprock Fashion”.
With his desire to give the fashion scene something fresh and innovative, Ariel is building a brand inspired by his distinctive form of art for consumers 'Addicted to House' not only to wear, but enjoy for a lifetime!
Ariel's 2nd collection "The price of Beauty" which was exhibited at the Wynwood Exhibition Center : Cafeina in the Wynwood arts district the week of Nov 24th,2010 as part of the pre-Art Basel opening collection.
The price of Beauty was inspired by what society has expected from the modern day woman in their struggles to reach 'perfection' as opposed to being Beautiful in any shape, size or form, and being accepted for who they are.
The striking beauty of this collection as well as the social conscious message behind it has touched art lovers in the Miami art scene and has solidified Ariel as a promising up and coming artist in the Miami art scene.
