You may have taken a concealed carry permit course already - which are usually between two to four hours long. Those courses are designed to give you a basic understanding of firearms and a quick summary of the important laws behind carrying a gun. Those classes are fine for the purpose they serve - which is meeting the legal training requirement to exercise your right to carry a gun.

However... average concealed carry permit classes are NOT designed to have you walk away ready to defend yourself. Any instructor conducting such a course will tell you that. Those types of classes are simply an introduction.

The Concealed Carry Intensive Clinic is designed to provide a very real forward step into being more ready to have to use your firearm in a real situation.

What makes the Concealed Carry Intensive Clinic different? Here are some of the skills we will be covering in the 14 hour, two day intensive training:

• How to properly draw your pistol from concealment
• How to draw your pistol from laying on your back
• How to draw your pistol while someone is punching you or tackling you
• How to wrestle your gun away from an attacker that has managed to grab a hold of you gun
• How to draw your gun with your weak hand in case your dominant hand gets shot
• How to draw while protecting a loved one next to you versus a threat to your front, right, left, or rear - the picture below is me demonstrating this particular technique
• How to shoot while moving backwards, forwards, and sideways
• How to handle malfunctions and reload your gun while on the move
• How to reload your firearm with only one arm
• How to shoot from behind cover/concealment
• How to shoot from advanced shooting positions such as kneeling, prone, etc.
• An in-depth three hour legal class on using deadly force and carrying a gun in Florida (a lot more legal than your normal concealed carry class)
• And more! I forgot to mention we'll be shooting between 350 to 500 rounds :)

I plan on keeping the class size small... about 10 students. This is so that all the students can get lots of attention, giving the class a private lesson feel.

This class is for beginners and experienced shooters alike. If you have never shot a gun before, this class is the perfect introduction to firearms for anyone serious about self-defense. If you have shot guns before but the majority of your training has been standing and shooting at paper targets at the range - then this class will take you to the next level of preparedness for a self-defense situation.

The price for this course is going to be $499. If you do not have a concealed carry permit, this class does meet the State of Florida training requirements as a concealed carry permit class. With the certificate from this course, you can apply for your permit.

You have an opportunity to take a rifle instructor course approved by the Nation Rifle Association (NRA). This course focuses on the basics of shooting rifles. Once you complete this course and register with the NRA you will be recognized as an NRA certified rifle instructor. You will learn about gun safety, the basics of shotguns (pump action, break/hinge action, & semi-automatic) including how to load and unload, and the basic parts; the five fundamentals of shotgun shooting, shotgun maintenance, basic stance, and the teaching and training standards of the NRA for Basic Shotgun Shooting Course.

One of the requirements by the State of Florida to apply for a concealed weapons permit is to have successfully taken a concealed carry course under a certified instructor. Miami Shooters Club provides such a course with its team of NRA certified instructors - who will teach students the important fundamentals of how to safely use a semi-automatic pistol and revolver. Your concealed weapons permit will allow you to concealed carry in more than 30 states.

Miami Shooters Club's instructors carry multiple certifications under the NRA, have traveled abroad to train and receive firearm certifications, and are hand-to-hand self defense experts - having taught multiple seminars for the Miami-Dade Police Department. Under their instruction in the concealed carry class, students will learn the mechanisms behind pistols and how they operate while learning how to grip the firearm, aim, pull the trigger, get into a proper stance, and much more. The class also covers many of the legal issues and expected ethics of concealed carry in Florida. The classes are designed for complete beginners who have never touched a gun before... but experienced shooters will learn something as well.

At the end of the classroom portion, students will safely discharge a pistol under the supervision of a certified instructor, as required by the State of Florida. Miami Shooters Club will provide a firearm, ammunition, eye protection, and ear protection at no extra cost.
