Duo Tech Talks: .NET Reversing and Exploitation for Snacks

Details

What up what up! Our next Duo Tech Talks event is coming up soon. June 27th!

Last month, we had Dr. Collin Mulliner, PhD, Mobile Hacker, German, Jr. present on "Probing Mobile Operator Networks". A video of his talk is now available online, so check it out here if you missed the last event:

While Martin does an amazing job recording the videos for later viewing, there's nothing like the live event! So make sure to come out Friday, June 27th at 6:00pm at Duo's office. We're excited to host Kelly Lum (@aloria) who will be speaking on .NET reverse engineering and exploitation.

The title of her talk is ".NET Reversing and Exploitation for Snacks", so I anxiously await what kind of snacks she will have (Scooby Snacks hopefully). Speaking of snacks, we'll have beer and pizza available for all! If you don't yet have a date for Friday night, make a date with DTT!

Kelly's abstract and bio are below! See you then!

Title:

.NET Reversing and Exploitation for Snacks

Abstract:

This talk will cover the current state of the art in .NET reversing, down from PE format of .NET assemblies through various types of obfuscation, and into reversing tools and techniques. Finally, we will explore reversing popular .NET RE tools in an attempt to modify their behavior.

Bio:

I have "officially" worked in Information Security since 2003, in everything from start-ups to government organizations to finance. I am an Information Security Officer at a financial company and read a lot of source code. I am afraid of clouds.
