Security by Design: Digital Onboarding Meetup

Microblink continues its series of meetups on the topic of information security this October. This meetup, titled Security by Design: Digital Onboarding, will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, and will focus exclusively on remote user acquisition. As digital transformation continues to reshape industries worldwide, the process of digital onboarding has become a key method for introducing clients and employees into various digital ecosystems. However, the increasing reliance on digital onboarding also brings a range of security issues and regulatory challenges that demand serious attention and expertise.

At the first Microblink Meetup we discussed the Ministry of Finance's Remote Customer Onboarding Regulation, which came into effect earlier this year. Additionally, panelists and guests reflected on the Ministry of Economy's 2019 Regulation on the provision and use of trust services and its misalignment with current ETSI technical standards. The upcoming October Meetup will focus on establishing better cooperation between regulators and industry representatives and defining the most pressing challenges for organizations implementing digital customer onboarding.
The October Meetup will be in the form of a panel moderated by Bernad Karačić from the Croatian National Bank, with representatives from the Ministry of Finance as one of the regulators in the field, as well as representatives from the financial industry, including Erste, ZABA, and Electrocoin. The discussion will cover topics such as fraud detection success, risk management, the use of biometrics in digital onboarding, expectations regarding the EU digital wallet, and opening the digital public administration ecosystem to entrepreneurs.

As with the previous event, the Meetup will be held at Microblink's headquarters in Importanne Gallery, Zagreb, Trg Drage Iblera 10. It will start at 2:00 PM and end with informal networking around 4:00 PM. The event will be held exclusively in person and will not be broadcasted or recorded.
