FER Alumni Security by Design Meetup

Details

FER Alumni Association, in collaboration with Microblink, invites you to a Meetup on security in software development. We’ll focus on integrating security throughout the entire development process in order to transform DevOps into SecDevOps.

Modern software development moves fast, and the old “test and patch” mindset just doesn’t cut it anymore. Security has to be part of the process from the start, not something bolted on at the end. That’s where the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) comes in — it’s about weaving security into every step of development and turning DevOps into SecDevOps. Shifting security left means fewer late-stage headaches, lower remediation costs, and a smoother path to compliance with standards like ISO 27001 or SOC 2. With supply chain attacks on the rise, misconfigured cloud setups making headlines, and AI opening up both new tools and new threats — plus regulations like the EU Cyber Resilience Act — building security into design, code, and deployment has become non-negotiable.

At this meetup we’ll keep things practical. Expect a panel conversation that digs into what it really takes to make security part of CI/CD pipelines: where things can break, and how teams actually fix them. We’ll share lessons on resilience in the SSDLC, compare the realities of cloud vs. on-prem environments, and talk about what effective testing looks like in SecDevOps — from internal checks to external validation. Code reviews, approvals, metrics, and reporting will all be on the table, along with how to manage SecDevOps costs and make the business case for security. We’ll also explore defenses against supply chain attacks, how to keep in step with compliance frameworks, and what AI means for security — both the promise and the risks. And finally, we’ll ask whether gamification can make SecDevOps more engaging for developers and more effective for organizations.

Representatives of Abysalto, Infigo, Infobip, together with hosts from FER and Microblink, will hold a panel to provide specific insights on these topics, followed by food and drinks.

The Meetup is live and will not be recorded. Participation is free of charge, but the number of guests is limited. Please register by filling out this form.
