Micro Frontends Meetup - August 2023

Details
The Micro Frontends Meetup for August 2023. Join us to follow and engage in discussions around micro frontends, implementation details, frameworks, and experience reports.
For this edition we invited two guests to share their insights into micro frontends. They will talk about their circumstances, challenges, and implementation details that worked for them in their project.
Our first guest is Fatima AMZIL:
Fatima AMZIL is a passionate frontend developer and a cross-functional frontend technical leader. Beyond her work life, she is a technical writer at Medium, a mentor at MyJobGlasses, and an Angular GDE. She also shares content about Angular on YouTube. Last but not least, she is also a mother of three super cute cats.
Fatima will talk about the CALYPSO program, which is managed by ASP (Service & Payment Agency). ASP is a public organization at the center of state payments. It aims to provide allowances to citizens in various domains such as employment, agriculture, innovation, society, culture, and more.
During the COVID period, the French government offered numerous allowances to its citizens, resulting in a high volume of requests. However, the existing system revealed its limitations in handling this surge in demand. In response, the CALYPSO program has two main objectives. First, it seeks to promptly respond to the vast majority of user requests, addressing their eligibility for specific allowances and providing general assistance through highly accessible systems. Second, it aims to develop a comprehensive automated system that streamlines the entire process. With this system in place, newly announced allowances, regardless of the domain, should become quickly accessible to citizens, minimizing the time to market.
Therefore, it is crucial to have a system that can generate screens, forms, and adapt rapidly to meet these demands efficiently.
Our second guest is Manuel Römer:
Manuel Römer is a software engineer at smapiot specialized in scalable frontend and backend development. Since the age of 12, he has been interested in technology and software development, mainly in the .NET stack. Right now he spends most of his time creating micro frontend solutions using React and TypeScript.
Manuel will introduce large-scale portal development with a case-study inspired by one of his current projects. He will go into the details of why a micro frontend discovery service is crucial for enabling different teams to work independently from each other. One of his goal in this session is to show how one can get started quite smoothly in that space and what pitfalls should be avoided.
If you want to be a guest in a future edition (e.g., to share your experiences using micro frontends or to about your project) just get in touch with us. We are happy to receive your ideas and craft the show around your content.
