Using Portainer to create and manage MicroK8s clusters

Details

It is our pleasure to host James Traxler from Portainer.io in this weeks MicroK8s office hours. James will tell us about "Using Portainer to create and manage MicroK8s clusters"

Summary:
Portainer provides a front-end to creating and managing your MicroK8s clusters, allowing you to fire up a cluster on your existing virtual or physical machines, then horizontally scale the cluster by adding or removing nodes, add or remove most core and community addons, check the state of the cluster upgrade the MicroK8s version of the cluster and SSH into your nodes. Portainer also allows easy deploying publishing (including via ingress) and managing of applications on your MicroK8s or any other Kubernetes clusters. James Traxler, Product Owner at Portainer, will take you through all this and more.

Short Bio:
James Traxler, Product Owner at Portainer. I've been in the product for many years as a product owner/manager and business analyst of all sorts of software, originally from a software developer background. I've talked and workshopped with customers and users across the globe and brought many different products to market, whether in startups or larger businesses. The kind of software I've worked in has included auction/marketplace systems for fine art (Christie's) and insurance (Lloyd’s), insurance and re-insurance premium calculation systems, consumer credit apps (Latitude Finance) mass media apps (The Guardian UK and Hearst, Inc.) ERP/manufacturing warehousing distribution and sales systems and many others.
