Talk 1: Practical Approaches to Greening Your Cloud Native Practices
Abstract: The rapid advancement of technology has brought transformative advancements in various aspects of our lives, revolutionising communication, commerce, and nearly every industry. However, this transformation has also come at a significant environmental cost, with the energy consumption of data centers and computing infrastructure significantly contributing to global carbon emissions.
As we strive to build a more sustainable future, it is imperative that the DevOps community takes a leading role in minimising the environmental impact of our software and platforms.
Bio: With a career spanning over two decades from being at the technological forefront to holding senior management positions, Michael Mueller is a widely recognised figure within the cloud and sustainable IT industry. As an expert in cloud technologies, transformation and sustainable software, he’s not only worked for leading companies he also got elected as Co-Chair at the Green Software Foundation’s Policy Working Group. Michael shares his knowledge as lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and various industry conferences.
Talk 2: Best Practices for Creating your own GPTs
Abstract: This talk will cover the development and application of (Custom) GPTs, a specialized version of ChatGPT, designed for specific tasks. We will discuss best practices for creating these GPTs, including selecting relevant data for the knowledge base and leveraging features such as function calling. Through examples of effective prompts and use cases, attendees will learn how to utilize GPTs for a variety of innovative applications.
Bio: David Furrer – Principal Course Instructor & Technical Lead at gpttraining.ch David holds master's degrees from ETH Zurich and the University of St. Gallen. In 2019, he completed further training in data science and started working as a data scientist and data analyst. In 2021, he co-founded a blockchain data analytics platform that leverages machine learning. David is an early adopter of AI technologies / tools such as ChatGPT and GPT-4. He always stays on top of recent developments around LLMs – both in the tech space and academic realm. He has hands-on experience from implementing different GPT-based solutions, and prior teaching experience from a leading data science academy.
