Session : Tour of Azure AI

Let's explore some of the most exciting services under the Azure AI umbrella. This session showcases some cool demos including; building your own CoPilot with Semantic Kernel + Azure Open AI service, and "cloning" your voice with Azure Custom Neural Voice!

Food and Networking: 7:00- 7:20pm

Break, enjoy refreshments, and networking.

Speaker 2: Guang Li - Solutions Consultant @KPMG UK 7:20 pm - 7:45pm

I have been working as junior consultant in Azure for almost 3 years now. Started with an engineering background and ended up working in cloud.

Session: KQL 101 and Demo

KQL 101 will be around introductory/entry level concepts around KQL. I will be talking about its uses, limitations and giving a demo around some basic operators.

Speaker 3: Jonathan D'Aloia Principal DevOps Engineer @ Adatis- 7:50- 8:20pm

I have been working with the Azure BI stack for over 4 years now and specifically have a passion for DevOps within the data space. My particular focus now is automating Infrastructure deployments through Azure DevOps pipelines, to streamline and simplify on going deployments which improve stability withing cloud data platforms.

I started working on Data Warehouses and designing and improve existing data models but as the Azure BI stack evolved over the years, my interest turned more into the underlying Infrastructure that was hosting the Data Platforms, which is when I turned my attention to Azure DevOps and automation processes such as CI/CD.

I have experience in working with Infrastructure as code languages such as BICEP, Terraform and ARM templates, I also write and design YAML templates to automate the deployment of the Infrastructure as well as pipelines to deploy the code base to these resources. Automation is key!

Session: Azure Verified Modules

In this session, I will delve into the use of Azure Verified Modules (AVM) in Azure BICEP to streamline and simplify the process of deploying infrastructure as code (IAC). We will begin by exploring the traditional methods of writing IAC modules, examining the common practices and challenges faced by developers. These challenges often include issues related to consistency, reusability, and maintainability of the code.

I will then introduce Azure Verified Modules, explaining how they are designed to overcome these obstacles by providing pre-validated, reusable components that adhere to best practices and industry standards. By leveraging AVM, developers can significantly reduce the complexity and time required to deploy and manage infrastructure, ensuring a more reliable and efficient workflow. Throughout the session, I will provide practical examples and insights on how to integrate AVM into your existing BICEP projects, demonstrating the tangible benefits and improvements in your IAC deployment process.
