The last decade has seen the proliferation of data-related positions across the Tech sector.
Along with professions such as Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts that seemed to be well defined, there were always additional workers, responsible for defining data, collecting it, curating it and labeling it. All of these tasks are grouped under the title 'Data Operations', also in organizations that did not explicitly use the title.
I this short talk, we would like to provide an overview of the Data Operations profession: key concepts, responsibilities, where can these positions be found and how they are changing now with the advent of Generative AI.
