TALK DETAILS:
🟣 .NET runtime on mobile: Swift interop with Milos Kotlar (Microsoft)
This talk presents key interop features in .NET on mobile platforms, focusing on Apple mobile and Swift-only frameworks. It provides an overview of how .NET applications can call native APIs by leveraging runtime features, type mapping, and platform-specific bindings. Examples such as in-app purchases demonstrate how native Swift SDKs can be invoked directly from .NET applications. The talk also addresses current limitations and highlights opportunities to further improve interop in .NET mobile development.
Note: The content presented in this talk is experimental and is not officially supported.
🟢 Microsoft.Testing.Platform with Jakub Jares (Microsoft)
Microsoft.Testing.Platform (MTP) is redefining the way .NET applications are tested by providing a modern, extensible, and high-performance foundation for test execution. Designed to work across different testing frameworks, MTP enables seamless integration while allowing developers to build custom extensions tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll explore how MTP simplifies test execution, enhances performance, and unlocks new possibilities through its powerful extensibility model. We’ll also see how to extend MTP by building a custom test report, showcasing how its flexible architecture makes it easy to integrate with external systems and adapt to specific testing needs. Join us to discover how you can leverage and extend MTP to shape the future of .NET testing.
🔵 .NET networking from Framework dawn to the distant future with Tomas Weinfurt (Microsoft)
This talk focuses on how networking changed from .NET Framework to .NET 9. What issues you may face when upgrading from version to version and how recommended best practices changed over time.
And how to write efficient and performant code... if you need to.
