**Topic Summary**

We will briefly cover the native approach of using Git with Power BI, which will unlock a lot of potential on its own, and then take you behind the scenes of our advanced Azure DevOps implementation, and the journey we took to migrate our large PBI portfolio to this new way of working.

Here, CI and CD are fully automated, quality checks run on every deployment and metadata collection is automated. The session highlights how python / powershell automations and agentic AI are now embedded in our process, generating fixes, driving quality and efficiency.

We will discuss architecture diagrams, pipeline YAML, example rule validations, challenges and lessons learnt.

**Speaker Bio: Joe Rossouw**

Joe Rossouw leads a team of Power BI developers who are transforming how analytics is built, tested and deployed. His team uses Git, CI/CD and automated pipelines to manage Power BI like software. They have introduced quality monitoring, metadata validation, deployment gates and AI-assisted workflows that review changes, generate fixes and maintain documentation. Joe’s work focuses on where Business Intelligence, DevOps, automation and AI converge, and how that combination can create scalable, maintainable analytics products.
