Secure Azure application platform services for security engineer - Part 2
Details
In Part 2 of our Azure Application Platform Security series, we will move beyond Kubernetes and focus on securing Azure Container Registry, Azure Container Instances, Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Logic Apps.
Modern cloud applications increasingly rely on containers, serverless computing, APIs, event-driven architectures, and managed platform services. These technologies reduce infrastructure overhead and accelerate innovation, but they also introduce security considerations around identity, network exposure, secrets, ingress, authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication.
This session will show participants how to apply Microsoft-recommended security controls across these Azure application platform services.
About the Session
Security for cloud-native applications requires more than securing the underlying infrastructure.
Cloud and AI Security Engineers must understand how applications authenticate, where secrets are stored, which services are exposed to public networks, how workloads communicate with other Azure services, and how access should be governed.
This session will focus on two major security areas:
- Security controls for Azure container services
- Security controls for Azure Functions and Logic Apps
Microsoft’s container-security module covers access control and network isolation for Azure Container Registry, managed identities and virtual-network integration for Container Instances, and ingress, identity, and secrets controls for Container Apps.
The serverless-security module covers authentication and authorization, virtual-network integration, private endpoints, managed identities, connector security, and network isolation for Azure Functions and Logic Apps.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this session, participants should understand how to:
- Secure access to Azure Container Registry
- Apply Azure RBAC to container resources
- Use private endpoints to reduce public exposure
- Implement network isolation for Azure container services
- Use managed identities instead of stored credentials
- Secure Azure Container Instances workloads
- Configure secure ingress for Azure Container Apps
- Protect application secrets
- Configure authentication and authorization for Azure Functions
- Use Virtual Network integration for Function Apps
- Configure private endpoints for serverless workloads
- Secure Logic Apps connectors
- Apply network isolation to Logic Apps
- Build defense-in-depth controls for modern Azure application platforms
Who Should Attend?

Why You Should Attend
Modern applications are no longer built only on virtual machines.
Organizations now increasingly rely on:
- Containers
- Managed container platforms
- Serverless compute
- Event-driven services
- Workflow automation
- API integrations
This means security professionals need to understand how to secure applications across multiple layers without relying solely on traditional network or host-based controls.
This session will help participants understand how Azure Container Registry, Azure Container Instances, Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure RBAC, managed identities, private endpoints, and Virtual Network integration work together to build secure cloud-native application platforms.
Whether you are securing applications, designing cloud architectures, working in DevSecOps, or preparing for the SC-500 Cloud and AI Security Engineer certification, this session will provide practical knowledge you can apply in real Azure environments.
Come ready to learn, ask questions, and strengthen your understanding of securing modern Azure application platforms.
Learn. Build. Protect. Secure the Cloud.
