📢 We are excited to welcome you back for in-person event 📢

This year marked our third all-digital Microsoft Build and whilst we hope you took the time to catch some sessions, we know there’s a lot of content on offer and sometimes life can get in the way.

Fear not! In this session the Microsoft and GitHub team will bring you the highlights and key announcements from Microsoft Build 2022.

We’ll take the time to discuss what we think it all means for developers here in ANZ, along with where you can find more information should you wish to dive deeper on a given topic.

You’ll learn:

  • What were the key themes from Microsoft Build 2022
  • How ANZ community leads think they will shape our local industry
  • Ways you can get started building with updated/new services or features

  • Rapidly code, test, and ship from secure cloud developer environments

Cloud Advocate Microsoft
Sonia Cuff connects in person & online with the worldwide IT community, on behalf of Microsoft. As a Cloud Advocate with an IT Operations focus, Sonia educates, empowers and upskills technical communities and captures feedback on how to make Microsoft's products even better. With over 20 years’ experience in tech, from large enterprises and government to small & medium businesses, Sonia brings a unique perspective to the realities of operating Cloud and hybrid workloads. She's passionate about improving work & life for everyone in an IT Operations role.

Jorge Arteiro - Speaker
Cloud Developer Advocate Microsoft
Jorge is a Cloud Developer Advocate for Containers based in Melbourne/Australia with over 20 years in the tech industry. As former Microsoft MVP - Most Valued Professional, he developed his passion to help and sponsor the Community to get into the tech industry, to learn how to collaborate and share their own knowledge with others. At the age of 12, Jorge remembers when his Dad gave him his first personal computer, a MSX 1.0 Hotbit Z80. On this computer, Jorge learned about BASIC, MSX-DOS, Z80 Assembler, PASCAL, EPROM burners, matrix printers, Hard disks, Modem and so on.

Scott Coulton - Speaker
Cloud Developer Advocate Microsoft
Scott Coulton is a Developer Advocate and Docker captain with 10 years of experience as a software engineer in the managed services and hosting space. He has extensive experience in architecture and rolling out distributed compute systems and network solutions for national and multinational companies with a wide variety of technologies, including Azure, Kubernetes, Puppet, Docker, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, and Linux. His design strengths are in cloud computing, automation, and security space.

Simon Waight - Speaker
Azure Pro Developer Lead
Simon is the Azure Pro Developer Lead in Sydney for Microsoft. He has more years of experience than he cares to remember in online solution architecture and delivery and has held roles spanning software development, infrastructure architecture and IT operations, and finds modern cloud practices embodied by the DevOps culture to be a sweet spot. During his career Simon has participated in many teams and has a strong understanding of the collaborative nature of successful projects.

Renee Noble - Speaker
Regional Cloud Advocate Microsoft
Renee is the Regional Cloud Advocate for the Sydney Reactor and the Australia region. She's passionate about technology, education, community, and bringing them all together in-person and online. Renee has worked in sectors across tech, outreach, and education. She's worked in ML and web development in the past, dabbles in embedded tech, and is always keen to learn more! Renee is a passionate women in tech advocate, spending her spare time leading the Girls' Programming Network to support women and girls in tech. She also runs her own business, ConnectEd Code, working to bring exciting coding opportunities to kids and teachers.
