3:40 - 4:05pm (NZST) - Migrating Azure resources between regions

About this session: With the New Zealand North datacentre on the horizon, it is a good chance to take a look at solutions such as Azure Resource Mover, to migrate workloads between regions. In this talk, we will run through high level Azure Resource Mover setup and migration, as well as some pointers to assist with architecting solutions across multiple regions, to help prepare you to start planning for the new region.

About this session: The largest ever datacentre project in New Zealand is due to be completed in 2023; Microsoft Azure NZ North region will become generally available soon, offering unprecedented computing power and IT infrastructure right here in Aotearoa. In this talk, Daniel Larsen (Principal Customer Engineer, Azure Engineering) will provide a briefing for Cloud Architects, Engineers and Technology Strategists on how to design for this new region, covering Availability Zones, Disaster Recovery, Data protection, Architecture and more.

4:30 - 5:00pm (NZST) - Event Panel: Tech should be NZ's #1 export. The investment Microsoft has made in building the New Zealand North region demonstrates the belief in NZ’s tech future. But we have a tech skills shortage in NZ. How can we address this tech skills shortage and what can you do to invest in your own tech career?
