Session Title: Extending DAX with User-Defined Functions (UDFs)

Session Abstract:
Microsoft has recently released User-Defined Functions (UDFs), which you can use to encapsulate complex logic into reusable, maintainable functions that simplify your Power BI semantic models. By the end of the session you'll understand what DAX UDFs are, and will be able to start building your own functions. We'll also cover DAXLib, a community driven, open-source library of DAX UDFs, initiated by SQLBI, allowing you to instantly benefit from libraries focused on SVGs, Format Strings, Filtering, and more.
Speaker Bio:
Jake Duddy is a Business Intelligence specialist with a deep focus on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. In his day job he administers a Fabric tenant, championing best practices by developing DevOps processes and advanced admin monitoring solutions. By night, Jake shares his experiment, experiences and insights on his blog, evaluationcontext.github.io.
He is also an active speaker, presenting at Fabric User Groups and the prestigious Fabric Power Hour at SQL Bits. From these contributions he was recognized as a Microsoft Data Platform MVP. Additionally he helps out on the Fabric forums, and is a Fabric Community Super User. Finally he is a co-organizer of the Devon and Cornwall Microsoft Power BI User Group.
