What we’re about
Formed in 1957, this year marks the 58th anniversary of the Mid-Atlantic Pilots Association, a non-profit flying organization dedicated to air safety, aviation education and flying camaraderie.
All levels of pilots, student pilots and aviation enthusiasts are invited to join. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month at Lincoln Park Aviation. Meetings are free to dues paying members and their guests. Dinner is no longer a part of the MAPA program. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to gather at the Sunset Grill for Dinner and to socialize prior to or after the meeting. Meetings start at 7PM.
Membership is $40 a year and paid members are granted full voting privileges. As networking is an important facet of the organization, we welcome the participation of all aviators to our fly-outs and to meaningful collaboration on events and issues of interest.
Your $40 annual dues entitles you to -
- one year of MAPA dues and eligibility to attend our monthly meetings
- one year of membership in the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum (check the Museum’s website for the great benefits of membership)
- admission to lunch and presentations at our annual picnic

Topic for this month:
ForeFlight’s new Dynamic Procedures is the next evolution in instrument approach briefing and flying. Designed for maximum situational awareness and workload management, it brings the entire approach to life and saves you from wading through notes or losing track of key details.MAPA member pilot Michael Blackman will demonstrate Dynamic Procedures from his iPad.
Feel free to bring up any other topics of your choice.
While there will be a moderator to guide the conversation, we encourage all attendees to actively participate. This isn't a lecture series, rather, it's a platform for open-mic discussions, drawing upon the collective experience and knowledge of our members.
You're welcome to share your own aviation experiences, insights, and perspectives, and to learn from the experiences shared by other pilots. We're also pleased to invite highly experienced airline and other pilots to contribute to these insightful discussions.
If you are not already a dues paying MAPA member, we invite you to join us by clicking here. Your $40 annual membership includes membership in the NJ Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum.
