Muir Beach - Tennessee Valley loop (~9 miles)

900AM START. BE ON TIME. PARTS WITH STEEP CLIMBS.

PARKING
Park in Muir Beach parking lot (37.86173109545775, -122.57529892179726), also where we will start. Plenty of parking there but come early to reserve your spot. Sometimes it can be unpredictable.

DETAILS
9.1-mile loop trail near Muir Beach, California. Generally considered a moderately-challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 30 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you'll encounter other people on the traiil. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The first ~2.5 miles we will ascend 850ft continuously, then level off for 1mile. Next 3 miles we will descend, then ascending 550ft over next mile before mostly descending back to our cars. There will be a couple of steep inclines on this trail so you will need to push. We will have short breaks at Tennesee beach and Pirates Cove. The hike is mostly unshaded so be prepared, a hat is REQUIRED and bring sun block if needed. You MUST have at least 1.5 liters of water to join this hike. No exceptions.

IMPORTANT
Please read reviews to ensure you are physically fit to do the trail. You should be able to hike at a 2.5 mile/hour pace on flat ground for long distances.

Use GPS to find coordinates of meeting point below to Muir Beach parking lot (37.86173109545775, -122.57529892179726). We will assemble and start in the parking lot.
