9AM START. BE ON TIME. MEET AT RODEO BEACH PARKING- NOT AT ALLTRAILS STARTING POINT. BRING BEACH CHAIRS/ BLANKETS FOR PICNIC AFTER.

PARKING
Meet at the Rodeo beach parking lot (37.832552663852496, -122.53890016379071) near the Rodeo Beach Coastal Trailhead. Reasonable amount of parking there but come early to be sure. NOTE this is different that the alltrails starting point

DETAILS
8.5-9 mile loop trail near Sausalito, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4hrs to complete depending on stops. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash

WHAT TO EXPECT
We will be starting from a different location than Alltrails, and we will go clockwise to get warmed up early with the ascent. First 2 miles we will ascend 935ft to explore Mike missiles site and other military/ battery sites. You will see sweeping views of the ocean and hopefully of the city. From there on, we will descend towards Point Bonita Light House exploring the beautiful lighthouse and area around it. We may see the lighthouse and get in if it is open. Finally we will walk back towards the lot and our cars. Total ascent ~1,400ft. The hike is mostly unshaded, so wear proper sub protective gear if you need it and sunscreen. Bring water.

Note that this is a CASUAL/ SOCIAL hiking group (not for either competitive hikers or weekend strollers)- as such the group accommodates to conditions and skill levels of participants to maintain reasonable pace (~2 - 2.5 miles/ hr) with stops.
