Let's Take a HIKE!- Grundy Day Loop, Dog Hole Trail, Ravens Point Overlook

Hello!
Join us on this 10 +/- mile hike on parts of the one and only Fiery Gizzard.
This is a Fiery Gizzard 'Light' hike that hopefully makes it accessible to more people. If you've never been there, you really need to see it. Really.

This hike is rated moderate for distance, rugged, wet and steep terrain.

We'll start at Grundy Day Loop, cross the bridge and follow the Fiery Gizzard up to the Dog Hole Trail, then out to Ravens Point Overlook. Then back the same way, cross the river bridge again, then complete the other half of the Day Loop..

Along the way, we'll see Blue Hole Falls, Yellow Pine Falls, Ravens Point Overlook, Sycamore Falls and Hanes Hole Falls. Also, rock houses, lots of little cascades and several little waterfalls and more rhododendron and mountain laurel than you can count. Very lush and green down in the gorge year round.

Note-FWIW this hike does not traverse along the river which has the boulder fields. That makes this particular hike much easier.

We'll eat lunch on Ravens Point, so bring food/snacks.
Bring PLENTY of water, proper footwear, trekking poles, etc.
There ARE restrooms at this trail head.
This is a rain or shine event. (you don't have to go if it rains tho)

Parking is at a premium (many cars vs. few spaces) at this trail head these days.
If anyone wants to carpool, ya don't have to, but probably be a good idea.
