What we’re about

Middle Tennessee Group is the local group of the Sierra Club, one of the oldest and largest environmental organizations in the U.S. Our greatest mission is to get everyone outdoors to experience nature, as well as to support clean air, clean water, and clean soil. We host frequent hikes, experiences, and events in the Middle Tennessee area. These are open to everyone and are usually free.

Explore Bellevue's Highlands - AT CAPACITY

Bellevue, 7501 Old Harding Pike, Nashville, TN, US

YOU MUST REGISTER HERE to receive details about where and when to meet for this hike.

Off-trail, 3-mile strenuous hike from Belle Forest Cave & Arboretum property to West Meade Waterfall and back. Explore part of the undeveloped woods that crown Bellevue on this off-trail, approximately 3-mile outing. Starting at the Belle Forest Cave & Arboretum property, this hike will transverse steep hills above two valleys, pick up the high trail that runs the ridgeline, to the West Meade Waterfall and back.
Participants will see why conservation of the 148 acres of the Nashville Highland woods between the two protected properties is so important. The terrain is similar to that of the Hill Forest of the Warner Parks. Wear sturdy shoes, dress in layers, and bring your poles.
