Beginner Hike-Radnor Lake & Brunch

Details

Important Update: Due to construction at Radnor, we're moving the beginner hike to Couchville Lake at Long Hunter State Park. Same time, same plan—just a new location. We'll cancel the current Radnor hike and hope you'll join the Couchville event! We look forward to seeing you there!

Beginner’s Hike & Brunch: From Couch to 8 Miles by Fall!

Have you wanted to start hiking but felt a little intimidated or didn’t know where to begin? You’re not alone—and this event is for YOU!

Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly hike around Radnor Lake in Nashville. This scenic trail is perfect for first-timers or those easing back into hiking. We’ll take our time, enjoy nature, and encourage each other along the way.

Trail pros—you’re welcome too, as long as you’re here to cheer us on, not lap us!

After the hike, we’ll meet for brunch nearby to chat about strategies for getting in shape for longer hikes and to brainstorm ideas for future hikes. Our group’s goal is to work toward completing a 5-8 mile hike by October—and we'll motivate and encourage each other along the journey!

What to Bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • A positive attitude—no experience needed!

RSVP Details:
Please RSVP to reserve your spot so we can plan for brunch seating. You can RSVP by joining through Meetup. Message me with questions or concerns. Feel free to invite friends!

Let’s take that first step together! See you on the trail!

Full Disclosure: I’m starting over after ACL, MCL, and Meniscus surgery. I’m strictly a “flat ground only” kinda hiker right now—no mountains, no hero moves. But I’m aiming to be trail-ready by October.

I'm also new to Nashville and I'm looking forward to making new friends

If you’re recovering too, or just need to start slow—you’re in the right place. Let’s take it one step at a time together.

Here is a link to the first hike/walk at Radnor Lake. The hike will be 2.5 miles but can be shorter if needed as it is an in and out walk.

We will meet at the Visitor Center on the Granny White Pike side of the park.

DO NOT ENTER from the Franklin Pike side of the park. As Otter Creek does not go through to the Visitor Center.
