Join us on Tuesday 10th November for the next East Midlands Umbraco Meetup.
Andy Carlier will be hosting and kicking things off with a roundup of the latest news and updates from across the Umbraco community.
Then Paul Seal will be giving an updated and extended version of his Codegarden 2026 talk.
Every Claude Has a Silver Lining ☁️
How do you ship a working Umbraco package from a hospital bedside with just a phone?
When Paul's wife was unexpectedly taken ill, he found himself spending a lot of time at her hospital bedside. At the same time, Umbraco HQ needed an Umbraco 17 version of his Clean Starter Kit , and the existing release process involved far too many slow, manual steps.
With only his phone to hand, Paul turned to Claude, GitHub Actions and the Umbraco Management API to find a better way. What followed was a completely different approach to developing, testing and releasing the package, including running Umbraco in GitHub Actions and automatically testing the results.
For this East Midlands edition, Paul will also go beyond his Codegarden talk and share some of the experiments and innovations he's developed since, including taking things even further with his smartwatch .
It's a story about automation, AI, constraints and how sometimes being forced to work differently leads to better ways of doing things.
Or, as Andy puts it: Every Claude has a silver lining.
